Teachers & Schools

More SPACE unit teachers in the K-W area can now benefit from classroom lectures and evening star parties held free of charge by club members. Because the Education/Outreach program has been a success at some Waterloo primary schools since it was introduced in 2004, it has been expanded to all WRDSB schools in Waterloo and Kitchener, including high schools.

The purpose of the Education/Outreach program is to show kids how to find stars, constellations, planets and lunar features themselves, thereby augmenting the efforts of teachers. Club members bring telescopes to school properties so young amateur astronomers can be treated to fantastic night sky objects.

For contact information, see 'Public Outreach' on the Contacts page.
