StarGazing 101 - Lending Scopes

Lending Telescopes

Stargazing 101 has three telecopes to lend out to qualified members. The funding for these scopes was provided by K-W RASC from the Tula Foundation grant. There are 2 eight inch telescopes and a five inch as pictured below. The club also has a Sky Atlas, a copy of Nightwatch and other books that are lent out on a monthly basis.

Lending Scope Policies

To Borrow the Telescopes:

1. You must be a member of good standing of K-W R.A.S.C
2. Have the ability to safely transport and store the telescopes.
3. Agree to be financially responsible for damage or loss.
4. Return and pick-up the telescopes at the agreed time and place.
5. Give a small talk on your observations with the scope (optional).
6. How far away is help?
7. Sign the reserve list.

Time and Place

To be arranged with KW-RASC Equipment manager, Dave Garner.

At present the telescopes are being lent out on a monthly basis. They can be reserved at our monthly meetings or by contacting Dave. You are encouraged to bring the telescopes out to any Stargazing 101 or K-W RASC star event and to make a small donation for their maintenance.
